teacher FAQs & rules.
Here are some questions that were asked by some of the members here. Seeing as we don't have any rules for the teachers of this site, this is where you will come to find them. Please follow them carefully.
questions.
1. Where do I create a thread so students can sign up for class? How long should that stay open?
2. When can can classes start?
3. Where do I post the classes? I know there's a classroom board, but I wasn't sure if sub-boards were coming or if I should just work with the whole board until more teachers come along.
4. Homework: yes or no? How am I allowed to handle it?
5. Individual grades: yes or no? How am I allowed to handle it?
6. Field trips: severely unlikely, but you never know. Yes or no?
7. Where can I post other requirements for the class, like posting minimums, "items to bring", etc.?
answers.
1. We will be creating sub-boards as teachers come along. As for the classes, you may post your threads how ever you like in that sub-board. Sign-up threads should be open for at least three weeks, seeing as we do not have many members yet.
2. Classes may start after we have a total of three teachers. We might lift this because teachers are very uncommon these days.
3. Yes, sub-boards will be provided. That is where you can post your threads.
4. Homework will be allowed. This is up to the teacher. You may handle it in any way, but please, pm an admin with your lesson and the homework that you wish to give before you send it out to the students.
5. Individual grades are encouraged, but please make a group grade as well.
6. Yes field trips are allowed. This is also up to the teacher, but like most schools, it must be approved by the dean first. In this case the dean would be an admin. If you need a sub-board made, you may request one as well.
7. This must be your first thread as a teacher, in your sub-board. This must contain how you will be grading them, what to bring and the consequences to behaving badly in class. If you wish to give a student detention, please pm an admin and we can set up a point system if you'd wish. (kind of like harry potter's house points)
rules.
1. Please register your character like you would any other character.
2. Fill out the application.
3. Once accepted, an admin will create your sub-board. In the event that we have not gotten to it, please pm one of the admins and we will see to it immediately.
4. When requesting a board for a field trip, please state where, if a new category must be made (for different countries) as well as if this should be a permanent board/category or not. The admin that you pm will speak to the others and we will discuss this matter and get back to you within 72 hours of your request time.
5. Please pick an appropriate subject for your character. There are many to choose from. Also, there is a list of available classes to teach. Please go and claim that class once accepted to IWMU.
