rules.
This may seem like a lot to read, but it really isn't. Please read through the rules completely, do not just skim. The admins of IWMU will know if you've read them or not.
the basics;;
01. This site needs to be an active site. I know that you can't get on every day, but if you can't get on at least twice a week, then this site is not for you. Let an admin know if you're going to be gone for over one week.in character rules;;
02. You can have as many characters as you want, but there are some rules. For every two female characters, you must have one boy or one adult. No one will care if you're absolutely horrid at male role playing. This site is all about getting better at this, being a better writer. So please, make a boy and enhance your inner male.
04. If you register a canon, you MUST role-play that canon at least once every four days. If we find that your canon character is not active, we will give it to someone else who will be able to use it more. We know that not everyone can get on the computer every day, but if you can at least log in all of your characters at least twice a week, that would be lovely.
05. When writing your application for your second or third character, please re-post your role play example every time. Do not put "see so and so." It gets confusing and annoying to the administrators. We also as you to do this because it keeps the applications looking neat and tidy.
06. Respect. This is a big rule here at IWMU. We ask that all members and staff members respect each other, even the guests that visit here. If there is disrespect we will PM you, or ban you if you are a guest.
09. Please do not ask the staff members if you can become one of us. We will discuss this matter when we are in need of new staff members. If you ask any of the admins or moderators, you will ruin your own chances of becoming a member of the staff.
10. NO SPAMMING! Do not join a thread just to say "come and join my thread." Also, there is a board for advertising so please do not post an advertisement in the C-Box or pm the members about your new site.
11. No bugging other members to post when they haven't for a while. If you see that the member you've been threading with has not posted within seven days of your last post, PM one of the admins stating so and we will get in touch with this person and ask them to come and post.
12. When registering your name, you may register any way you please. When you're registered, please change your name to your characters first, middle and last name all in upper case. This is the only exception to the spelling and grammar rule.
01. NO GOD-MODING, please and thank you and no mary-sues either. Don't know what these are? PM me or Google it. This is a general rule that you will see on most of the RPG forums.
02. This site rating is PG-13. Cursing is allowed, but not excessively. If you are to go into detail with a sex scene or a birth scene, please use the fade to black scene, or continue the thread else where. Also, if you wish to kill off your character, get one of them pregnant or married, please PM one of the admins before you go and thread these ideas.
03. We have no word count here at IWMU. We simply ask that there are no one-liners. Please make sure that you have at least one detailed paragraph when threading with someone. If the person you are threading with has posted one thousand words, we ask that you come close to matching the word count. This just makes things interesting and helps you become a better writer.
04. One character per account. If you accidentally post as the wrong account then edit saying (sorry wrong account) or something and make sure that whatever character that is supposed to be talking name is used.
05. No chat speak. The only exception to this is in Cell Phones, Emails, and IMs. It's hard to understand and is not very appealing. This is not allowed in the in character threads nor the out of character threads.
06. Please use proper spelling and grammar. I understand if you make a spelling error. But it's also possible to go back and edit a post. Please capitalize the first letter of the first word in your sentence and all names. I expect you are above 6th grade and know spelling and grammar.
07. Posts should always be in third person and past tense. Except when your character is speaking.
08. If a character isn't claimed (such as...Livvy Collins) then it is allowed for you to say 'Livvy approached and greeted so-and-so.' That isn't considered God-moding. As long as you don't make a habit of doing that in every post, it's alright.
09. Don't have crazy font colors in your posts. It's okay for character plotting, of course, but people might not want to read the posts if they are all a zillion different colors and sizes. Please only use the size one or zero. It looks cleaner and more uniform. When your character is speaking, please bold and use ONE different color that will look nice on a dark skin.
signatures and avatars;;
01. You must have both. Most people like to have a general idea of who they are talking to looks like. But you can take as long as you need to get a signature and avatar. I know how hard it is to get good signatures, but avatars should be pretty easy. Get an avatar ASAP. the password is hey dragon. If you really can't find a signature, there are people here who will make one for you.
02. No huge signatures. You may have one big one that is no bigger than 400x200, two images that are around 200x300, or up to five icons. Text is okay in your signatures but don't put to much.
03. Avatars should not be bigger than 150 px width by 250 px height.
04. Coding to center a signature is: [center*][/center*] without the *.
05. Absolutely no nudity.
c-box;;
01. Don't spam the c-box. Spam is small, pointless, annoying messages. Conversations are welcome. That's what it's for. But absolutely no SPAM.
02. Also, no advertising. It's okay to have your site linked to your name, but don't draw attention to it. And no flat-out advertising, like saying "Hey people come to my site!" or anything related to that.
Your admin,
Reagan
